On July 28, 2017, I received from Brigadier Arnaldo Augusto do Amaral Neto the first-place award in the cultural contest for the commemorative logo of the 50th anniversary of the National Athletics Center (Aeronautics Sports Commission). This important Air Force institution hosted the 5th Military World Games, and its facilities are used to train world Olympic medalists such as Arthur Zanetti, Arthur Nory and Thiago Braz. The unit also supports several sports programs and is a reference in research and development of activities aimed at improving and training high-performance athletes.
The challenge of taking part in a competition of this size and the prestige the sports institution holds with Brazilian society motivated me greatly. In the winning artwork I used elements related to the unit’s main gymnasium, mixed with elements of the institution’s own emblem.
